Every year since I could remember, this pickle ornament starts off our Christmas celebration, after we have fully decorated the Christmas tree. The night of Christmas Eve, my parents find a very well hidden spot to place the pickle. It is a kind of dark green matte pickle ornament that really blends in with the tree, so finding it can be very hard. Then, whoever finds the pickle first on Christmas morning gets to open the first present.
