Story pending

My family artifact is a photograph of my grandmother and her three younger siblings before they immigrated to the United States from Italy. In 1947, my grandmother's father immigrated to the United States. 15 years later, my great grandmother came with her four kids to Brooklyn, New York. They came here for a better life, more freedom, and from poverty in Italy. After being kept as a prisoner of war in Germany for 2 years during World War 2, my great grandfather built a better life for his family here in the United States. Without my family immigrating to the United States, my mother and my sisters wouldn't have been born. I am proud of where my family came from and how brave they were to go through all the challenges they faced, fighting to come to America.
