I moved to the United States in December, 2019 a couple of days before Christmas. I used to cry a lot the first months here, I missed my family, especially my Grandma. My grandma has taken care of me since I was born. I have a twin sister so it was hard for my mother to take care of both that’s why my grandma took care of me and I’m glad she did it. Every time that I was feeling sad, angry, happy she was there for me,  and she always treats me like a baby, feeding me with my favorite dishes. Not having her around really affected my emotional health, no one could replace her. It's 2024, and I have gone every single summer to Nicaragua to spend time with my family and friends. When I went last summer my sister brought her instant camera and I asked her to take a picture as I was hugging my grandma. It is still really hard for me to say goodbye to my grandma but I know that next summer she will be there, waiting for me to arrive and cook all my favorite dishes. I know my grandma is not going anywhere and she will always take care of me and give me all her love. I carry this picture with me everywhere I go because it makes me feel that in any step I make she is by my side, pushing me to keep going and holding my hand.
