Photo of grandpa
This is a picture of my grandpa, Ralph Frigiano. He was an Italian immigrant who came from Sicily, Italy and immigrated to Brooklyn, New York. This picture was taken before he commuted his communion at the Catholic church he attended. He was about 7 years old (now he is 93) and was forced to wear this fancy outfit. You had to wear this outfit and if you didn’t you weren’t allowed to receive communion. This second picture was a photo taken before he made his confirmation. Once again he had to wear this outfit in order to receive confirmation. He was an orphan and had a foster mother who from stories being told was very mean and abusive. She was just in it for the money and didn’t worry about the children. However, she did make the kids go through the Catholic Church and made sure the sacraments were celebrated.
