photo of family generation ago
The object that relates to my family migration to the United States is a picture of my great-great grandparents, who immigrated from Italy in 1912. This photo is a picture of their wedding. My great-great grandfather’s name was Giuseppe Cardone and his wife was Assunta. They came from a town near Rome called Avezzano. Their families knew each other in Italy but they got married in the United States. They moved to a town in Ohio called Lima. They lived their the rest of their lives, and this is where my great-grandfather, and grandfather, was born. Giuseppe fixed shoes in Lima, and Assunta was a housewife. Thanks to Giuseppe Cardone, I have my Italian citizenship, and I visited Italy in 2024, and went to Rome and Florence.
