Photo Album
Photo Albums are important to my family because it's a physical way to keep track of our family's story and heritage. My grandparents traveled from Jamaica and so looking through the photo album reminds me of their experiences and how far they've come. Even though we have phones now, having the photos physically makes it feel more nostalgic and feels more like a group activity. Going through the photos helps me get closer to my family, every time I learn something new or have memories brought up that I'd forgotten about. I also like that I can continue adding to the album as I get older and hopefully will add to it as I get older to share with my future family. It feels important to me that the photos were put together over time and are a collaborative project across relatives.
