This is a picture of my great grandma, my grandma, and my parents. My great grandparents from my father’s side were rich landlords until the Culture Revolution. They were forced to give up their lands so people can distribute it to others. Furthermore, the Red Army forced my great grandma to clean for others. They survived through the Culture Revolution. Later, there were missionaries around my hometown and my grandparents decided to convert to Catholicism, they found a sense of comfort in it. As result of the Culture Revolution, my family lived in poverty for generations. In the early 2000s, my father decided to immigrate to England because of the financial conflict we were facing. Also, because of the two-child policy, my parents were in huge debt. However, they refuse to let him immigrate to England because of SARS(Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) outbreak in 2003. Then he decided to immigrate in 2004 to the United States and lived with his cousin. At the same time, my youngest(third sister) was born.
