My Immigration Story    My oldest bother, Mohammed Tayab Ali, won the O,P-1 lottery, and came to America in June of 1990. He was the first to win this new lottery, and he stills talks about it to this day, after getting recognized in the local news paper. After receiving his citizenship in five years, he was able to bring his wife and kids to live with him, and my mother ended up coming along in,1997. She was able to apply for underaged kids to come and live with her; the age limit was 21, and since I was 17, I was lucky enough to come with her. I have seven brothers and one sister and I was the only one who was able to come.  Most of my siblings are now here but back in 2002 I was the lucky one!   I arrived here in It was a cold winter morning.  My oldest brother picked me and mother from the JFK airport.  I looked out the car window and witnessed the breathtaking clean ,black roads and tall brick buildings, just like the American embassy, back in Bangladesh.  My brother lived in a five story apartment building in Borough Park.  The building was full of people from Bangladesh and it was almost like one, big family.  There were lots of girls in my age so I didn’t feel homesick right away.  My brother lived with his wife and two sons. One of those sons, my older nephew, was older than me, and the younger nephew was almost same age as me.  I started high school in the 10th grade at the age of 18 and graduated when I was 21.      This is the story of how I ended up in this country. The end.
