This object is a Philippine twenty-peso note (0.42 USD). The front of this money shows President Manuel L. Quezon, the  Father of our country's language and former president of the Philippine Commonwealth. On the back, it features palm civets and one of the country's heritage sites, the Banaue Rice Terraces built by Filipino ancestors over a thousand years ago.   Even though it has a smaller value than the United States dollars, my family truly treasures this money. This banknote not only represents my country's culture and history, but also it represents all the blood, sweat, and tears my family experienced and faced in immigrating to the United States. My parents and I were born and raised in the Philippines.  In February 2019, my family made a life-changing decision and moved to the land of opportunities. My family sacrifices a lot to have better lives. My mother and father take risks and offer their careers while I surrender all my education plans. The processes that my family went through were rough. It took us a very long time and a lot of money to get an immigrant visa and tickets to America. Even though we had to break many barriers and had many adjustments throughout our journey, all sacrifices were worth it.
