My great grandfather came to America on August 20th, 1920, at the time he was 28 years old. He was born in San Pancrazio Italy, one of the most southern parts of the country. He left Italy from Naples and left his home for a new life with his wife Carmela. They both arrived in New York, like most European immigrants, on the ship Patria but soon moved to Boston where my family would continue until relatively recently. He worked as a tile worker and would pass the trade down to my grandfather Saverio.
