Peach Cobbler
For my Your Story, Our Story project I chose peach cobbler because when my grandmother was a child her mother's mother used peach cobbler to bring the family together. It was used for all different types of occasions: family reunions, funerals, birthday parties, and more. Peach cobbler contains peaches, sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, butter, and vanilla extract and more fresh ingredients. I was 4 years old the first time I had a peach cobbler. My family was having a family reunion at my grandmother's house. The peach cobbler was one of the main desserts and one of my favorite desserts. I had it with some whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. I thought it was very delicious, and I liked the ice cream combo as well. This object teaches me about my identity because it shows me that I care about the little things. I am grateful for my family and all that they teach me. I feel like its important to know learn about you family’s culture and to learn where they come from even if it means learning family recipes. Something that people need to understand about this object is that its not just food, it's part of a culture and tradition. It is something that my family has passed down for generations. Showing that if you can bring people together with a simple desert like peach cobbler is something every one in my family loves.
