Oplatek
Every Christmas Eve growing up my family would break our Oplatek. Each person at the table gets one of the wafers and you go around to everyone and break off a small piece of each others wafer and eat it. As a child, it was a silly and fun thing that my grandpa had everyone do, and even still it would bring the family together on Christmas. My great-grandmother brought this tradition over with her from Poland. She came to America on the last boat from her city before World War One broke out. Her son, my grandfather, carried this tradition with my family after her passing.
