Old Home in Kentucky
This is the house I grew up in; it stood on a large hill in a small town in Kentucky. It will always have a special place in my heart. My dream is to one day move back to the house, because I feel like when I moved away, I lost a part of something that made me, me. It’s not just a regular house; my parents spent months renovating and turning it into a home built for our family. It was in the country, so it was a very peaceful area. I miss sitting in my bed at night and listening to the sounds of the night before bed. I miss the times when my dad would cut the grass; my sister and I would ride in a wagon in the back around the woods. I miss the 15 inches of snow that would pile up on our hill;that made the best slopes of sledding. I miss everything about my home, my friends, and all of my favorite memories I made. Even though I miss the house, I also miss the place where I grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone, and the closet grocery store was 30 minutes away since everyone grew and made their own food. I miss seeing my family on weekends. The thing I miss most of all is myself. I feel like when I moved away, I haven’t been to me. The only thing that I wish for is to go back, being where I live now feels almost dreadful to live each day, being here doesn't feel like home. I’ve always wanted to live somewhere different, and now that I have it’s safe to say there is definitely no place like home.
