Story pending

While we do not know the exact date, it's believed that my McFarland ancestors emigrated from Ireland in the 1700s. They eventually ended up in KY where they married and raised families. Although not proven (yet!), the family story is that my ancestors were part of a group that was deported from Ireland because they plotted and planned to overthrow the British King George II. Their choice upon conviction was death or deportation. Fortunately for me; they chose deportation.

My gr-gr-great grandfather was born Oct 4th, 1840 and died Oct 10th, 1914. During his life, he married Mary Stevens (We think) in 1863. Like many people of his era, William only attended school for 3 or 4 year but was "regarded as a man of knowledge and intellect far above that of his formal schooling."

One of his children was a son named Samuel Levi born on Dec 26th, 1886. Sam was married twice and had a total of 17 children. One of those children, was my great grandmother, Nettie. In 1942, Nettie married a man named George Tapscott and they had 8 children. Six of those children were born in Kentucky before they moved to Illinois in 1956. The seventh of those 8 children was my grandmother, Betty.

Betty married a man named Royal Yost, and they moved to NJ in 1977 and had 3 children. One of those children was my mother, Stephanie. When my mother was about 2 years old, her parents divorced and her mother moved to IL. A few years later, my grandmother moved to CA. In approximately 2005 my mother moved to Washington state where she met my dad. I was born in 2007. In 2008, my mother and I moved back to CA.
