This Item is a newspaper article about my grandfather speaking about his experiences with General Patton. At the end of this newspaper article, it talks about my grandfather meeting up with an old veteran. They were in the same division during the war, which was the 778th. My grandfather and this man became friends as they were during the war, and they kept in touch even though they lived on two different ends of the United States. The second picture is of General Patton crossing the Blank River. They had stopped there to take a break for the night. My grandfather was lucky enough to snag a picture of him on the bridge. This bridge is special, because they made it out of rafts. You can see the rafts at the bottom of the picture near Patton's right leg. This picture is important, because my grandfather was one of the few people that was taking pictures during the war, and was able to bring them back in his camera.
