I was born to parents who weren’t yet ready for children and they couldn’t care for me. My adoptive parents took me in for what they thought would be a few months of help. My parents continued down their road and my adoptive parents officially adopted me on my fourth birthday! Their names are  Norma and Leo Martinez. My mom was born and raised in Fillmore, California and my dad migrated here from Mexico when he was about three and moved to Mission, Texas. At age 18 he joined the army and traveled all over the world. Once he was out, he moved to California. He settled in Fillmore, California. He met my mom they had three daughters (my sisters) and a way down the line they got a bonus kid! Me! They were 62 when they adopted me so a tad older than most parents but that never stopped them. Because of them, I was able to have opportunities and guidance and a life filled with love I couldn’t be more thankful for!
