This object is the necklace that I wear every day. I rarely take it off because it means a lot to me. It is supposed to be the Irish knot or a form of the Irish knot. It is not exact because it’s more on the jewelry design side of things. Meaning that , it’s more to be a pretty necklace rather than an exact replica of the Irish knot. But my family and I consider it the Irish knot. Both sides of my family have Irish in them. Mainly my dad's side but my mom's side also has a little bit in it. I got this as a birthday present from my dad when I turned 15 or 16. This is the only form of jewelry that I wear because I despise jewelry. I’ve never liked to wear rings or earrings or any type of jewelry like that, just this necklace. Even though it’s not the exact Irish knot it reminds me of family because it is in the shape of a knot. The shape reminds me of how family is so close, and can be tied together in a knot. The necklace broke once, but it wasn’t the knot part of it, it was only the chain. Even though it was just a chain at that point I was devastated. I ended up getting another chain and it was easily able to be fixed. This necklace has always meant a lot to me, just because I wear it every day and it has such a strong meaning to me. To other people, it might just look like a regular silver necklace but to me, it means so much more.
