The object that I chose was my necklace. It is an item of significance to me, since I have had it since I was a child. My mother bought it before I was born since she has a hobby of collecting jade. She gave it to me so that I would receive protection and good luck. The carvings on the jade are intricate and represent something that I cannot identify. It does connect to a larger story many would connect to since it is quite common to wear jade necklaces in Chinese culture.
