necklace
The object that I chose was our Lady of Guadalupe necklace. This is also known as Virgen de Guadalupe and it’s a Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary associated with a venerated image enshrined within the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. The basilica is the most visited Catholic pilgrimage site in the world, and the world's third most-visited sacred site. Mexican parents usually give these necklaces when the kids are going to get baptized, first communion, or confirmation.sometimes parents give them out on their kids’ birthday. I got my in my first communion when I was 11 years old. You can choose to wear it every day or to just keep it in a safe place. Mostly these types of necklaces are valuable because they are made out gold or silver. My mom gave another one so that I can remember her every time I have it. The one I have in the picture is silver and smaller than my other one that is gold.
