Necklace
I’m Puertorriquen, but everybody thinks that I’m American just because I was born in Florida, but I’ve spent almost my whole life in Puerto Rico. Yes, it feels a little bit uncomfortable traveling to a place where you don’t belong like Cleveland. So, I've traveled to Cleveland so many times that for me it is just as normal to be in Cleveland as Puerto Rico - almost like having two homes. My older brother Juan and I have been together the whole time, and he is so nice to me all the time. Juan gives me objects that have become important to me and some of them make like a whole story inside of me. So yeah, one day we were playing school together, me being the teacher and he was my student that day. It sounds funny, but yeah, we use to play those games when we were children. That day he gave me a necklace that has the Puerto Rican flag hanging on it. I asked him where did he find that necklace, and he told me "I bought it for you," and I said "Thank you, bro, I appreciate it." That necklace represents where I am from - Puerto Rico. I love Puerto Rico because my family and I still have some stories representing our life over there, and I could be anywhere in this world, but my heart is still in Puerto Rico.
