The golden necklace is something that all my family members mostly have. It’s gold and usually has the cross on it or the Virgin Mary. It is used to put it on your neck and just wear it there. Mine has The Virgin Mary in it and it also has on it three different kinds of shades, and that’s something I barely noticed myself. I’ve wanted one since I was young but my mom would always say it was a “Gastadero de dinero” because of the golden bracelet that I lost when I was younger.  That is mostly the same thing as the golden necklace but you put it on your wrist. Most of my family has one and I would beg for it since I would think I wasn’t really part of the church. Just two years ago my mom decided I was old enough to get one so she got me it and told me to not lose it. When I got the necklace I finally felt like I had something of the church community since I would go there and that’s mostly all you see them wear around their necks. The use of it I'm guessing for me is just to wear it and well my aunt does little prayers with hers and it could give you good luck. Since I have had the necklace I feel like I have gotten lucky.
