This necklace was given to me by a special person (my mom) on my 18th birthday. She also gave one to my sister so we both have matching necklaces. She said this gift will keep the three of us together, since my sister lives in Ecuador, but I live in Brooklyn with my mom. When I wear it I feel special because it represents our love and connection.  Even though we are far away from each other, it's a way to keep us connected and protected. I haven't taken it off since she gave it to me, and in the future I hope to continue the legacy and pass it on to my daughter to represent the connection and as a symbol of identity between our family.
