Necklace
My mom was born in Oaxaca Mexico. When my parents got together, my dad wanted my mom to come with him to live in the United States. At first my mom was not sure she wanted to leave her family behind. After my mom finally decided to leave she said good bye to her family, but as she was walking out the door my grandma stopped her. She gave my mom a necklace. My grandma received that necklace from her mom. My grandma knew that she wouldn't see my mom for a long time. In my opinion, the necklace symbolizes my mom's family especially my grandma who passed away. My mom uses that necklace every day because that was the last thing that my grandma gave to her before she passed away. If that necklace gets passed on to me, whenever I see the necklace it will remind me the importance in having a family or that family comes a long way.
