my object for my story is my nameplate necklace. my aunt/godmother gave it to me for christmas in 2016.  since then i haven’t gone a day without it. her and my mom and their youngest sister all have one. when i got mine i was beyond excited. it made me feel included because it was like a symbol of me getting older. i really feel that it is apart of me and i feel really connected to it. i feel uncomfortable without or like i’m going to have a bad day, it’s my good luck charm. it makes me feel connected not only to myself but also to my mom and her sisters. whenever i feel alone i hold my necklace close to me and think about all the support i have around me. the necklace it’s self has just impacted me with how i feel. i’m not me without it. it’s a reminder of who i am and how strong i am. i love it.
