My object is a necklace with an edelweiss flower. The necklace is from Austria. It is used as jewelry. My grandmother wore it when she immigrated to America from Austria. It is made of metal, glass and the dried edelweiss flower. 
I chose this object because my grandmother wore it when she immigrated to America. The necklace teaches me about the edelweiss flower. The flower symbolizes strength, hope and power. My grandmother thought that the edelweiss flower gave her strength on the scary journey to the United States of America.
One question I have for my grandma is when did she wear the necklace? Another question I have for my grandma is where did she get the necklace? It brings my family together and teaches us about our immigration to America.
