My Grandmother's Earrings
My grandmother gave me these gold earrings when I was 16 years old. It was given to my mom at 16 and it was now given to me and I hope to give them to my daughter in the future. These earrings are important to me because it shows that my grandmother trusted me with something that's priceless and irreplaceable. Me and my grandmother have had a really strong relationship since I was very young. I lived in her house for the first year of my life and I used to visit her almost every weekend growing up until she moved to Georgia and even after she moved I still try to call her when I can. I am also really special to her because I am the first grandchild she was gifted with. My grandmother has been someone I can rely on when my parents aren't always able to come through. My grandmother also provided me with a space where I can be at peace and relax which is something I am really grateful for. Me and my grandmother have a special relationship so these earrings mean a lot to me. And when sadly she’s not with us anymore it’s comforting to know I'll always have a piece of her with me.
