My Grandfather's Bible
This is a photo of my grandfather's Bible. This Bible was given to him after he got baptized as a child in the Presbyterian Church. My grandmother gave me this Bible earlier last year while discovering my faith and returning to church. This book has a lot of value to me because my grandfather passed away when I was only three years old, so I wasn't able to spend that much time with him, and I have no memories of being with him. This book is also particular because it is the holy book of the Christian religion and tells us the history before and during Jesus Christ's life. It also gives us instructions on how we are intended to live our lives. My journey with my faith has been quite interesting. I grew up in a non-religious household and only began learning about religion in my 6th-grade Humanities class. My mother grew up Presbyterian, and my father grew up Catholic, but both have stopped practicing the Christian faith for quite some time. The only thing growing up that had a small connection to Christianity was that my father taught me and would recite the lord's Prayer every night in Spanish. He decided to pass this down to me because he wanted me to have something his mother gave him. In 7th grade, I began attending church near my house, but during COVID, I lost connection with the church. I felt a calling to return to the church earlier last year, and just last week, I got baptized.
