My Families story
My grandpa, whom I call “Apaji '', my Grandma whom I call “Amma”, and my Dad lived in the southern region of India within a city called Bangalore. They wanted to seek a new life in America with new opportunities and a new environment for their children. My apaji moved to Miami without the rest of his family to set up a life in America and get prepared for them to move here as well. His dream was to become a dentist and open up his own dental practice in America. He attended dental school here in America, and following that my amma and my Dad moved to America in 1975 when my dad was only one year old. When my dad turned six years old, my Uncle, who I call Chicapa, was born. After a few years of hard work in dental school, my apaji opened up his dental practice in Miami, which was officially named Drjays Office but they called it “Smiles.” Smiles was very successful and my grandpa built a great reputation for dentistry. They then moved outside of Tampa, Florida, and my dad attended college at University of Miami and shortly after my Uncle went to college at Washington University. My grandpa started my family's life here in America with nothing and built up a reputation as well as both of his children being very successful.
