My Dad's Camera
Recently I told one of my dads I was interested in getting a real camera instead of just my cell phone, as photography is important to me and so he gave me his old camera he used to take pictures with. I was ecstatic that I’d have a real camera but was even more thrilled when I turned it on and saw pictures of my parents when they were much younger travelling all around the world and baby pictures of me and my brother, Jackson. There were pictures of my dads in front of the Colosseum in Rome, the Acropolis in Athens and the Tiananmen Square in Beijing. There were pictures of my whole family celebrating Christmas when I was barely two years old and of me and my brother in Sacramento running around on playgrounds. I saw my grandparents living with us and taking care of me and Jackson when we were barely a year old and of us going on trips together as a family. I'm so glad my dad gave me his camera as it has given me a window into the past and my childhood, along with allowing me to build more memories as time goes on and lighting up a passion I didn't know I had. His camera has inspired my interest in photography exponentially and has made me more appreciative of everything my family has done for me.
