My Rings and My Charm Bracelet

Over the years my mom has gifted me certain pieces of jewelry and they’ve become a part of who I am today. I always wear these pieces because they make me feel like I have pieces of the two women that mean the most to me with me at all times, my mom and my grandma. My mom bought my charm bracelet and its specific charms that showcase my different interests, milestones in my life, and my loving and hopeful personality. My number 16 charm was for my 16th birthday and I even have a clapperboard charm because I love movies. Some of my charms include my favorite color or just the first letter of my name. Over time my mom adds charms to the bracelet that reminds her of me. For that reason, my bracelet always reminds me of her. It reminds me of her warm, inviting energy and how she cares for others as if they’re her own. Through my bracelet, I know she’s there with me at all times.
I chose my silver sparkly rings because they remind me of my grandmother. They remind me of the lighthearted, kind, and wonderful woman that I spend a good amount of my time with.  She also wears lots of jewelry and she’s my best friend, so my rings make me feel like I have a piece of her when I’m not with her.
The two women who worked hard and graciously to raise me are always with me through my jewelry. Without my jewelry I feel like I am missing something; it’s become a major part of me. My jewelry is a comfort for me and I hope it’s the same for the next owner.
