My Chain
Story pending

I like my chain because it is very cute. It is a silver chain and looks like the shape of Africa. My best friend gave it to me. Her name is Ndeye Sow. On May 9, 2019, I left Senegal to come to New York. She surprised me with the chain and I cried a little bit. I wear it sometimes because I don't want to lose it, and if I go back to Senegal, I want to wear it. This chain represents my best friend and I will never forget her. My country is important to me and when I see the Africa pendant, it reminds me of where I'm from. Sometimes if I wear it, some people ask me, “Are you from Africa?” so that makes me proud. It also reminds me of the best times Ndeye and I had in Senegal, where we went shopping and shared our secrets. She is a kind person, honest and dignified. Why did my friend give the chain to me? She gave it to me because she didn’t want me to forget her. The subject of this photo is a necklace. The background is a green fabric. I used a centered composition.  The orientation is a landscape. The element of design this photos shows are lines that represent the rivers of Africa and repetition . I chose this photo because I like the composition and that the subject is in focus and clear.
