My mom first lived in San Luis, Mexico and she came over to the United States in October 2001. When she came to the United States, she had already given birth to two of my siblings. One of them is 22, and the other one is 21 now.  She came over with a Tourist Visa. The reason she came over was because she wanted better work opportunities and better opportunities for her kids. Another reason was that most of her family was over in the United States already. She brought her kids because she thought that living in Mexico makes it hard to have the right opportunities to live the best life you can. She brought her two kids because even if they were poor, at first, they still had better schooling. The first place she came to was Napa, and she really liked it, so she stayed here. She was nervous about how life was going to be in Napa and she was also excited because she was ready to live a better life. One of the things she misses the most is the culture and the food. Something she didn't like was the weather. She said it was always super hot.
