My object is a mousepad. It has a picture of me and one of my grandpas on it. The picture was taken at a park in Michigan. The background is full of green - there are trees and bushes everywhere. Grandpa and I are sitting on a bench. His arm is thrown around my shoulders. Grandpa looks like he’s dressed for an afternoon in the park in a T-shirt and shorts - he matches me. We’re both smiling and clearly happy to be there. It looks slightly different than most mousepads because it is tilted vertically instead of horizontally. 

This mousepad is important to me because it is one of the only pictures of my grandpa left. Grandpa has passed away since the photo was taken. The picture was taken when I was 3 years old and the mousepad was given to me a few months later. It’s one of my most important connections to my grandfather. He loved cats - he had 2 of them - and piano, just like me. It’s important that I have something to remember him by. In addition, the mousepad is also a symbol of my love of computers. I often spend my time playing videogames like Minecraft and Slime Rancher. So the mousepad is doubly important to me - it both symbolizes who I am and connects me to my family history.
