Mom Crochet
My Item is a crochet chair back. it is made by my mother. I am from Guyana and I moved to New York in September 2013. It was a big change moving here. Growing up I always see my mom making the chair backs, especially around the Christmas holiday. It's like a tradition to have new things at holiday time. My mom chooses to crochet her own stuff rather than buy it. She learned to do it growing up. My grandma took classes and my mom would watch them through a window of the building. My mom made a lunch bag from crocheting because they weren't a rich family, they try to make it easy for their parents. My mom thought me how to crochet also. Moving to New York my mom does not crochet that much but she tries to keep the tradition. Looking at the work my mom did and still do is amazing.
