My Grandma lived in Southern Vietnam and married my Grandfather, who was working for the United States military setting up the electricity for the military bases.  My Grandma and Grandpa had 4 kids together and had planned on raising them and living in Vietnam.  Unfortunately, the intensity of the war changed these plans.  Once my grandparents became aware that the fall of Saigon was eminent, they moved quickly to evacuate Vietnam with their 4 children.  My Grandparents fled Vietnam 2 weeks before the fall of Saigon. It was a long and difficult journey back to the US.  They temporarily moved to Thailand, then the middle East before they were allowed entrance back into the US. They then moved to Ventura and planed on living there for the rest of their life.
