A young man who was born in 1942 at a small rancho in Urepetiro, Michoacán, Mexico decide to leave his family and friends for a better tomorrow. With courage and bravery pumping in his veins he decides to leave his hometown Urepetiro to better provide for his family who was growing. He lived in Mexico for many years then he decided to move to Ventura, California to provide for his wife, Rosa and children. While working, picking lemons he realized that he needed all his family together so he worked from sunrise to sunset. He fortunately attained a green card with the amnesty in 1986. With his green card, he pushed and pushed himself with his oldest son Roberto until they accumulated enough funds to bring his entire immediately family to the United States. With his hard-work, dedication and love he was able to bring his whole family together after ten long years, giving us the blessing of being US citizens. Fortunately, I being so young when migrating; 7 months to be exact I didn't suffer hardships like the rest of my siblings did. Until this day as a Dual Citizen of Mexico and the US, I am thankful for my Papi's hard work, because of him all my family is happy, together and strong.  Who knew that my life was going to change so much from living in a small rancho to coming to beautiful Ventura. Here I learned how to be bilingual, bicultural and Chingona. l will always be proud to be my daddy's Chula, Chillona and Chingona. Hasta el cielo Papi!
