Story pending

My parents grew up poor in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, which is located in Mexico. They migrated to the U.S in 1992, for a better life. After having my brother, their first child, they patiently waited 18 years until they were able to gain residency in the U.S. Not only with my brother's help, but as well as with the help of Law 245(i). The Mexican Flag is important to my parents because it symbolizes pride of the early settlers and the struggles they encountered while fighting for independence. The flag has green which symbolizes independence gained from Spain, white represents purity of Roman Catholic religion, and red is for union. I've had the great opportunity to visit my family's roots in Mexico. My family and I would often go to Mexico during the winter or summer break. I met a lot of family members and got to experience their way of life. Mexican culture revolves around the values of familism, respect, and religion. It also includes independence and personal achievement. Although I was not born in Mexico, I will always be proud of my roots.
