Menorah
My object is a Hanukkah menorah. This is very special to our family, without it we wouldn’t even be able to do Hanukkah. It looks like a fork, well more like a eightk (get it, fourk, eightk) because It has eight prongs that all have dents at the top so the candles can stay in their spot. But the one that is in the middle is much bigger than the other ones. How the menorah works is that each night, on Hanukkah, we light one candle going right to left. Once it's the final night (aka the eighth night) all the candles are lit. I don't really know the backstory to it but I think by educated guesses, it either came from our ancestors or from a store. Now the backstory to Hanukkah itself is pretty long, so I will give a short version. A person was fighting in some war and needed light, all the regular candles back then that he had were out and he was in dark, so he made his own and it lasted 8 days, because of his candle, he survived and won the fight/war. The menorah is in pretty okay condition to this day (although candle wax is all over it) and will probably be nice in the future. A fun thing we like to do also during Hanukkah is take turns lighting the candles, staying up late for it, and giving out presents. Overall, the menora looks like a big fork with 8 prongs with the middle one being taller and bigger. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to do the tradition. I don’t know where it came from, wax is all over it, and we like to do special stuff on Hanukkah.
