Mamitas
Mamitas are "icee" that I had been getting with my Grandmother since I was little. The Icee itself is not anything special but it is the memories I have attached with it. My grandmother used to pick me up from kindergarten and no matter the weather we would get one of these. She would tell me that tamarind is her favorite thing because in Guatemala her and her siblings would boil it and mash it and add water and sugar to make a juice. She would say that this icee taste just like it. And even though she told the same story every time now whenever I get a Mamita in the tamarind flavor I think about her.
