My mom brought a mug back from Macedonia when she migrated here. This wasn’t an ordinary mug to her. It was her mom’s mug that she used back home. She came to the U.S. because she wanted to go to school here and learn about the culture. She brought this mug with her, and it is significant because it reminds her of her mom. She used this mug every day when she drank her coffee in Macedonia. Now my mom uses it daily to remind her of home. This helps her feel like her mom is always with her, no matter what. She has things like this mug that helped have a taste of home.
