This object is a handmade leather gun case made by my Grandma who gave it to my Grandpa so he could carry his gun in and out of his hunting spot a lot easier. This connects to my family identity because deer hunting has run in my family for many generations and it is a symbol of that tradition coming from my grandparents on to my Dad and now on to me. This shows what it means to be an American because it shows we have the right to hunt for our own food like our ancestors and the right to bear arms. This connects to the broader American theme of freedom also because like I said before we have the freedom and right to bear arms per the second amendment.
