I always hear that my great grandmother (Grandma Boo) made the best food ever. Supposedly she could make anything and she would put her puerto rican twist on it. She was always in the kitchen and my dad and moms food was always warm and delicious. Every sunday my dad makes breakfast sandwiches with cold cuts such as salami cheese and turkey, with a side of coffee. He sits down with my younger sister and takes his sandwich and dips it in his coffee. Then he does a smaller portion for my sister. When I remember grandma boo I always saw her in the kitchen and when she sat down she always had a dark coffee in her hand, wherever she was. My family is very very big and every time we have breakfast together they all do the same. Coffee is traditionally a breakfast drink but my family also drinks it to go to sleep. Sandwiches and coffee originated with grandma boo and how convenient it was to her all the time and she passed it down to two younger generations. Coffee is such a necessity when it comes to my immediate and extended family. Although I'm not a huge coffee fan I’m glad that I can be reminded of my grandmother every Sunday for breakfast.
