This is not just any other lacrosse stick. This stick symbolizes more than just lacrosse. When I look at this stick it brings back many memories that I made with my friends and family. In my family lacrosse goes back decades and decades and even centuries. Before me, my dad played lacrosse when he was in high school and even college. Lacrosse was first introduced to him by my grandfather. My grandfather loved to play lacrosse, he would always smile when we talked about it. My grandfather had a big influence on my family, he made sure to pass the tradition of lacrosse down the family tree. Since my grandfather told me about his history of lacrosse, I have always wanted to make him proud and carry on the tradition. I put countless hours into getting better at the sport, however when I was in 8th grade I fractured my wrist and it kept me on the sideline for a couple of months. I couldn’t catch up with the other players, they were in better shape than me. Before the injury I was fast and agile. After my recovery I had to gain my athletic abilities back. Even though I had doubts when I got hurt, I found the process very helpful and learned how to get through the tough times. Eventually, I got back to my normal self and started to play lacrosse full time again. To conclude, the significance of the stick is that it shows perseverance and determination.
