La Virgen De Guadalupe

My object is La Virgen De Guadalupe. She is from Mexico. It is used for praying and taking to church. My family and I and my grandmother and others use it often when praying. The statue is made of plastic and sometimes wood. It is painted and decorated to represent the colors of Mexico. I chose this statue because my dad told me the story of La Virgen De Guadalupe. I decided to bring it to class and share and let other people know the story.

Here is the story my dad told me:
John Diego discovered La Virgin De Guadalupe and saw her in the mountain. John Diego went to town and told the town and no one believed him. So he went back to the mountains and saw La Virgin De Guadalupe for himself. He saw her and she gave him petals so he can prove that he is right. This teaches me that the Virgin de Guadalupe is real.  It is important to me and my family because we take it to church and pray. La Virgen De Guadalupe teaches me about La Virgen and how her life was. This story is important for the bible.I wish I could ask my ancestors how many different stories they have heard throughout the years.  This statue is important to my family, my culture and my faith.
