For my item I chose this copper Virgen de Guadalupe. Growing up La Virgen de Guadalupe was always something that was very important to me. This item was passed down from my great grandma, to my grandma, to my mom and my family when we came to New York. Although it may seem like just a piece of copper, this statue always made me feel safe wherever I went. I used to pray to it because it gave me comfort in knowing that there was someone out there looking out for me. Now this Virgen de Guadalupe is sitting on a very important shelf in my room with other items that are meaningful to me.
