Being a 1.5 Generation Asian immigrating at the age of 2 is something I definitely do not remember. But growing up was something I remember. Trying to always fit in or learning two languages has always been a challenge growing up. If i would go to foreign countries for volunteer work I would see everyone have a blue American passport and me having a green Korean passport always made me wonder if I would ever go back to the mainland of Korea for good. Only recently has my family decided it would best for out future and theirs to live out our lives here in America for better opportunities. Being 19 currently I have always had a green passport for all my life. My brother and mother took the first step of choosing to be a citizen last year. I am now finally in the process of being a citizen and I have different opinions about it. I am gonna miss standing out by having a green passport but I also know becoming a citizen has more benefits for me personally.
