The object I chose is a Kiddush cup. At the beginning of the Sabbath dinner, or before a festive meal, the Kiddush cup will be filled with wine or grape juice, and the Kiddush, which is a prayer, will be said over it.  
This cup is especially important to me because this is the cup my parents used at their wedding, during the Jewish tradition when the couple will drink from the same wine glass. 
My parents got this cup from my great grandfather on my father's side, who was trained in the rabbinic tradition. He gave it to my grandfather, who gave it to my father. My grandparents also used it in their wedding, so it is a family tradition
