My family artifact is a ketubah. A ketubah is a Hebrew contract made of rectangular paper about 2’ X 3’ that is white, very big, really fancy, has lots of decorations like stars, spirals, and other shapes, and is framed. My family artifact came into my family on New Year’s Eve, 2005 when my parents got married. It is Jewish tradition to sign a ketubah when you get married and that is what my parents did, meaning they own it for all of eternity and cannot pass it down to me. It is extremely important to my family because it is a sign of peace and it is priceless.
