In my household, we have this pottery that we use for liquids to either cook for salsa or just beans. The pottery came all the way from Axochiapan, Morelos; it is a very small town. I grew up looking at it since I was young at my grandma’s house while she made her salsa or liquids on the stove in Mexico.  Even in Chicago, my mom would do the same and cook dinner with it too. I was told this is how we make our food and we use it almost everyday for liquids or sometimes to cook arroz con leche like for parties or religious days where we come to someone’s house and have like a mini church and be together. This object connects to my culture because it represents that we all do not cook the same way, and it is unique to have it at home.  It not only connects with my culture but where my mother came from because it taught me something that it brings joy and happiness to us in Mexico as a family.
