The Janbiya is a heritage that is wore around the waist and it represents the dress of Yemen. It is used in people as a gift or as a dance with it. I have one and my dad gave me. But you can buy for yourself too. It is made of clay, iron and gold only the men wear it. The Janbiya have long history from our grandparents my father gave me a Janbiya and told me this is a representation of our tradition. We can wear it everyday especially if there is a party or wedding.  It represent me, if I am going to wear it, I have to be brave and generous, or not give up Because it represents the history of our ancestors and what they left for us to understand. If you get someone mad and you were wrong it is tradition that after 3 days people meet and look who is wrong and who is right for mediation and the guy who did the wrong have to give the other guy a gift. A lot of times this gift is Janbiya because it symbol heritage and tradition and it has power.
